Veratrak, Central Pharma partner up to digitise supply chain operations
May 22, 2019Veratrak, a UK-based software provider dedicated to transforming supply chains across the life science industry, said Wednesday in a press release that contract packaging organisation (CPO) Central Pharma has selected its platform to help it achieve digitised end-to-end visibility of its supply chain and improve collaboration.
The Veratrak platform provides companies with full transparency of their supply chains, ensures secure and compliant critical document transfer, as well as facilitating partner collaboration to drive operational performance, the company explained.
Jason Lacombe, CEO at Veratrak said: “At present, all document approval and on-boarding processes at Central Pharma are running through email and internal working groups. By introducing our platform, we can help them to connect with their network, digitise these manual processes and secure their supply chain operations moving forward.”
To further clarify, the company noted that leveraging blockchain technology, the platform stores data as part of an immutable ledger and permits secure data sharing across supply chain partners.
By taking a proactive approach to cybersecurity, Veratrak has developed a system that generates an indisputable audit trail of all document processes and ensures GxP compliance.
Lacombe added: “Our end goal is to move the industry from paper to platform and away from non-compliant methods, such as email. We are thrilled to be working with forward-thinking companies, such as Central Pharma to drive our industry towards a safer and more secure future.”
The Veratrak platform enables simple collaboration between multiple sites and across large customer networks. The data-driven methodology behind the platform also allows customers to access actionable insights, helping them to overcome operational inefficiencies they may not even be aware of.
Alwyn Smit, managing director at Central Pharma said: “By partnering with Veratrak we are taking the first step required to build a fully digital end-to-end supply chain network, that ensures data integrity and secure sharing of information between partners.
Smit said that they chose Veratrak because its platform was designed with the industry in mind. Its solution not only gives us control over our supply chain but also has the potential to add value to our operations, Smit said. “By using a collaborative platform that facilitates efficient workflow, we will be able to reduce lead times by improving order management.”
The Veratrak platform will be used across Central Pharma’s Bedford, UK site, with the aim of later being introduced to the CPO’s new site in Kerry, Ireland.
Smit added: “As we supply products to over 60 countries and prepare to open our second site, Veratrak’s solution will help to ensure we continue to deliver high quality and on-time results for our customers. We are really excited about what this partnership will bring to both parties over the next year.”
