Ideal alternative for 72-hour VIP and PUR shippers commonly used for pharmaceuticals

FALL RIVER, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#coldchain–Packaging Technology Group, Inc (PTG), a leading provider of thermal packaging solutions and services for the biopharmaceutical and life sciences sector, announced today the cold chain industry’s first extended-duration, curbside recyclable thermal shipper. This new addition to PTG’s award-winning TRUEtemp Naturals® Line maintains 2-8°C for 72 hours.

PTG’s line of curbside recyclable & repulpable products used by several top-tier pharmaceutical companies offers an 80% decrease in overall environmental impact compared to a standard EPS shipper. PTG’s team continues to roll out new TRUEtemp Naturals® products at various temperature ranges and durations. The newest innovative design is a cost-effective alternative to VIP and PUR shippers, which currently are subject to supply chain challenges, and not made with sustainable materials.

“We launched our first curbside recyclable shipper three years ago, and we are thrilled to be known as the leading sustainability solution provider for the pharmaceutical industry,” said Kelly Cinelli, Director of Marketing at Packaging Technology Group. “The only available sustainable shippers on the market currently are 48 hours; this 72-hour shipper is a credit to our engineering team.”

The new 72-Hour TRUEtemp Naturals® thermal shipper will be effective throughout the year and has been qualified for summer and winter. The TRUEtemp Naturals® line continues to receive positive feedback and awards. A recent study revealed that PTG’s earth-friendly shippers decrease waste potential by 85%, water use by 90%, fossil fuel use by 78%, and water resource use by 83% compared to a standard EPS shipper.

“Our new 73,000 square foot facility in Fort Worth added to our depth; PTG’s redundant manufacturing capabilities substantially increase our capacity for producing innovative products,” said Lynn Plante, Director of Operations at Packaging Technology Group. “We have been able to triple our production capabilities with our additional locations and continue to develop manufacturing processes to assist clients with supply chain challenges and corporate sustainability goals.”
