Innovation Festival’s Mechanisms of Disease Conference Introduces Novel Approach for Midwest Talent Recruitment

March 8, 2022 Off By BusinessWire

SHAWNEE, Kan.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#ECR–BioKansas, the Kansas organization that unites, unifies, and promotes the Bioscience industry state-wide, is pleased to announce Innovation Festival’s Mechanisms of Disease Research & Recruitment Conference, an extraordinarily novel approach to talent attraction. The groundbreaking event will take place August 4-6, 2022, on both sides of the state line in Kansas City.

The event provides companies with access to highly skilled, technically trained talent emerging from training institutions. The program focuses on highlighting recent scientific discoveries and showcasing the wealth of career and training opportunities available within the Midwest’s human and animal health industries. For companies and institutions looking to recruit scientists, this event can’t be missed.

“Recruiting and retaining technically trained scientific talent within the Midwest has been a challenge. We’re working to disrupt the perception that there aren’t innovative, rewarding, and challenging scientific careers in the Midwest, while also connecting early career scientists with companies and institutions where their skills are needed,” said Daniel Folk, Assistant Director at BioKansas.

The organization is soliciting abstracts and travel award applications from students and postdoctoral scholars, from across the country, that are interested in careers in human and animal health. Registration for selected higher education students and postdocs is fully sponsored by SHARPhub and K-INBRE.

“This is the most unique scientific conference experience for students and postdocs. Not only will they learn about groundbreaking discoveries and network with leading industry and academic scientists, they’ll also end their time in Kansas City by seeing some of the top acts in alternative rock on our main stage,” said Sonia M. Hall, President and CEO of BioKansas.
