FDA warnes African Viagra’s possible harmful ingredient
March 31, 2017The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has advised consumers not to purchase or use African Viagra, a product promoted for sexual enhancement.
FDA said that its laboratory analysis confirmed that African Viagra contains sildenafil, the active ingredient in the FDA-approved prescription drug Viagra, used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). This undeclared ingredient may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels, FDA warned.
Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates.
