Bloomberg’s Drew Armstrong Joins Endpoints as Executive Editor to Lead Expansion

November 1, 2022 Off By BusinessWire

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#appointmentEndpoints announced today that Drew Armstrong has been appointed Executive Editor. In this newly created role, Armstrong will lead the expanding editorial team and help direct the company’s next growth phase into premium news and subscription data products, new events and tools for connecting the biopharma world.

Armstrong was most recently Bloomberg’s Senior Editor for Health Care. During his more than 12 years there, he led the newsroom’s U.S. coverage of the Covid-19 pandemic, developed its “Prognosis” health care vertical and managed a team of a dozen journalists covering every aspect of the American healthcare system. He also led development of the Bloomberg Vaccine Tracker, a global data tool read by millions of people, and his writing and editing have been acknowledged in multiple journalism awards.

Endpoints revenue has nearly tripled in the last three years, and it is expanding into related verticals and adding new products of value to its highly specialized audience. Since its founding in 2016, it has become a trusted, must-read source of news and analysis for the biopharmaceutical industry — with over 152,000 daily subscribers, 700 corporate subscription licenses, and a team of journalists and staff in the US, Europe and Asia.

“We have grown from a startup to become an integral part of the healthcare world. Drew’s appointment marks a major step in our evolution,” said Endpoints founder and co-CEO John Carroll, who will continue to write, organize and host events around the world, live and online.

“With Drew as Executive Editor, we plan to recruit a larger and versatile editorial team, raise our journalistic ambitions and take us all to the next level,” Carroll said.

“News organizations that can offer sophisticated, deep coverage along with scoops, data tools and smart analysis will be the next generation of successful media companies,” said Armstrong. “The Endpoints team has built a trusted, fast-moving news business that readers need more than ever in an increasingly complex world.”

Armstrong will also join the Endpoints Board of Directors as the company prepares to expand its health offerings and launch in new coverage areas.

“We’ve created a platform in editorial choice, tech adaptability and an overall sensibility that delivers for professionals in growing, complex industries,” said Arsalan Arif, founder and publisher of Endpoints. “For talented writers, we offer a model that brings together ambitious journalism and a successful business platform. And with Drew at the editorial helm, readers can be assured Endpoints’ ambitions will keep rising.”
