PPD’s SiteCoach Named One of 2019’s Most Innovative Services by PM360

WILMINGTON, N.C.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–PPD, Inc. (PPD) today announced that its SiteCoach training program for new clinical trial investigators has been named one of 2019’s most innovative services in the life sciences industry.

The recognition from PM360 – a leading magazine for marketing decision-makers in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and diagnostics industries – appears in its 8th Annual Innovations Issue, a guide to the year’s most compelling advancements in the life sciences.

SiteCoach is an easy-to-use program for health care practices interested in participating in clinical research to offer their patients new treatment opportunities. By providing advanced training, coaching and support, PPD intends to increase the number of high-quality research sites participating in clinical research and encourage repeat participation, while broadening the pool of patients potentially eligible for trials. The program is designed to address the industry challenge of site and patient access for pharmaceutical and biotech companies developing promising new therapies.

SiteCoach includes appropriate tools and comprehensive training at each critical stage of the clinical trial process. Training can be delivered virtually, face-to-face or combined, as needed. Features include a user-friendly online interface, a learner community portal offering resources and tools, a learner forum and mobile gaming designed to increase learner retention. PPD builds in flexibility for long-term trainees to include self-study options with interactive scenarios.

SiteCoach currently is being utilized by local non-profit organizations in rural areas to enable physician practices to participate in clinical research, as well as offer their communities access to additional health care options. SiteCoach also is being adopted by several universities to increase student and faculty capabilities and success in research involving clinical trials.

“We are pleased that our efforts to push the industry forward and make it easier for busy physicians to achieve success in research have been recognized by PM360,” said Rhonda Henry, vice president of site collaboration and patient centricity for PPD. “Quality matters to PPD, and the SiteCoach program intends to equip sites with the skills and knowledge to conduct clinical trials that meet the highest standards of ethical and scientific quality requirements.”

PM360 received hundreds of nominations from across the health care and life sciences industries in the categories of companies, startups, divisions, products, services and strategies. The PM360 editorial staff evaluated the submissions and selected their picks for the most innovative, regardless of category.

“For the past eight years, we have worked to help the industry identify the latest and most exciting advancements that facilitate change in the industry and how it operates, or offer new advancements that better serve patients, doctors, payers and others involved,” said Anna Stashower, CEO and publisher of PM360. “We hope this guide can serve as an important resource for the industry throughout 2020 as we all work to improve the health care experience for everyone involved.”
