Pharmacy Times Continuing Education™ and National Association of Specialty Pharmacy Present a Webinar Curriculum on Multifaceted Management of Cystic Fibrosis

The curriculum explores how pharmacists can impact the lives of patients with cystic fibrosis

CRANBURY, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Pharmacy Times Continuing Education™ (PTCE), a leader in continuing education (CE) for retail, health-system, managed care, oncology and specialty pharmacists, in partnership with the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP), have released a five-part, educational, on-demand CE webinar curriculum, “Multifaceted Management of Cystic Fibrosis: Optimizing the Knowledge and Ability of Pharmacists.”

The curriculum features five modules, each with a different expert faculty presenter:

“Study results show that approximately 70,000 individuals are living with cystic fibrosis (CF) globally,” said Jim Palatine, RPh, MBA, president of PTCE. “In this five-module, on-demand webinar curriculum, we look forward to educating the pharmacy community on how to manage this disease and improve the quality of life for patients living with CF. Participants can also receive a certificate of completion when they complete the full cubiculum.”

This educational curriculum is designed to cover unique considerations in the management of CF. Completing these CE modules will keep pharmacists abreast of specialized information about the management of pediatric patients, pulmonary exacerbations, chronic medications and adherence, complications and key counseling points as well as a look ahead to upcoming treatments. Participants who complete all five activities in this series will receive a certificate that demonstrates the pharmacist’s dedication to improving their knowledge of CF treatment and management. Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, each CE module can be completed as individual activities or the full curriculum for a total of 5.5 CE credits.

The activity is supported by educational grants from Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated and Rare Disease Report®. PTCE acknowledges the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy for its contributions to the development of this activity.
