DWK Life Sciences introduces KIMBLE® GLS 80® Media Bottle with Multiport Closure System

New wide mouth bottle with four-port cap is capable of performing a
multitude of laboratory applications

MILLVILLE, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–DWK Life Sciences, the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of
precision labware, introduces the KIMBLE® GLS 80® Media Bottle and
Multiport Cap System. Designed to help scientists accommodate a range of
sample sizes from 250 mL to 20 L, the KIMBLE® GLS 80® bottle and cap
system can be used for biological and chemical reactions, plant cell
culture, photobiological studies, and sample collection and storage. The
wide neck simplifies transfer of samples in any form, including powders,
pastes, granules and liquids. Spoons, spatulas, tweezers, and large
funnels are easily manipulated through the opening. Together with the
Multiport Cap, the GLS 80® bottle handles applications in the energy,
materials science, pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields of research (see
the Bioreactor Bulletin
).

“We’ve supplied our GLS 80® Bottle and Multiport Cap System to research
laboratories testing everything from algae to food,” says Rick Schwartz,
Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at DWK Life Sciences.

The KIMBLE® GLS 80® bottle is manufactured from 33 expansion low
extractable borosilicate glass in conformance to the USP Type I standard
for neutral glass. Resistant to acids, corrosive chemicals and thermal
shock, the bottles withstand temperatures as high as 500˚C making them
suitable for autoclaving. The GLS 80® bottle is available in clear
glass, or with an amber coated exterior for light sensitive materials,
or with KimCote® safety coating for protection in the event of damage.
Bottles are fitted with a matching pouring ring for drip-free pouring.
Easy-to-read volume graduations and white marking patch allow for clear
identification of bottle contents.

The four-port Multiport Cap system provides a choice of 5 port inserts
designed to fit different size tubing. Constructed of polypropylene (PP)
and polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE), the cap components are autoclavable.
