BioPharm International® Presents Webcasts on the Versatility of Light Scattering and the Exploration of Biotherapeutic Analysis

These separate webcasts will provide attendees with an improved understanding of the utility of dynamic light scattering and aggregate analysis and charge variant analysis using a native MS approach.

CRANBURY, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#biopharmaceuticalsBioPharm International®, a digital resource of technical articles, technology reports, regulatory and business columns and expert commentary surrounding biopharmaceuticals, biotechnology and bioprocessing, will host “The Versatility of High Throughput Dynamic Light Scattering in Protein Characterization and Formulation Development” and “Native MS Aggregate and Charge Variant Analysis of Biotherapeutics” on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. EDT.

“Understanding the efficiency of the latest practices within the realm of scientific research is essential,” said Michael J. Hennessey Jr., president of MJH Life Sciences™. “These webcasts will serve as an excellent resource for scientists, analysts and protein engineers alike to appreciate and adopt these new practices.

“The Versatility of High Throughput Dynamic Light Scattering in Protein Characterization and Formulation Development” will be co-hosted by LC GC®, a leading multimedia platform of peer-reviewed technical information on the field of chromatography and the separation sciences. Presented by Katherine E. Bowers, principal scientist at Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies U.S.A. Inc, this webcast will use a series of case studies to focus on the versatility and utility of dynamic light scattering (DLS) in therapeutic protein characterization and formulation development. The webcast will allow attendees to discover the use of thermal ramp DLS to monitor the stability of multiple protein formulations in a single experiment, learn how isothermal DLS monitoring of protein formulations can rank stability and compliment other biophysical methods such as differential scanning calorimetry, and much more.

Native MS for Aggregate and Charge Variant Analysis of Biotherapeutics” will be led by Chris Nortcliffe, Ph.D., applications specialist at SCIEX. As a specialist in biologics and structural biology, Nortcliffe will explore the fundamentals in size exclusion chromatography (SEC) and ion exchange chromatography for biotherapeutic characterization. Participants will gain insight on the effects of mobile phase conditions and chromatographic parameters in aggregate analysis by native SEC, as well as come to understand the determination of acidic and basic variants of monoclonal antibodies using native weak cation exchange chromatography.
