Citizenship Report: 2018 Year in Review detailing how the
company continues to advance sustainable practices and community
investment to create healthier futures around the world. The Report
focuses on four core areas: opioid abuse mitigation efforts, engaged
associates, sustainable operations and healthy communities. Selected
information within the 2018 Report has been assured by ERM Certification
and Verification Services.

Committed to Solutions: AmerisourceBergen and the
AmerisourceBergen Foundation, the not-for-profit charitable giving
arm of AmerisourceBergen, focused on supporting programs and
organizations that provide access to safe disposal of controlled
substances, prevention education and innovative solutions to
mitigating the crisis. Notable efforts in this area include:-
The Foundation donated nearly 900,000 drug deactivation
resources to 140 organizations across 44 states in the U.S. -
The Foundation identified and developed comprehensive opioid
misuse and abuse initiatives, including an Opioid Resource
Grant Program and the Safe Disposal Support Program -
AmerisourceBergen continued its longstanding procedure of
providing daily reports directly to the Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA) about the quantity, type and
receiving pharmacy of every order of controlled substances the
company distributes -
AmerisourceBergen was active on Capitol Hill to enact
legislation to support a better communications process between
drug distributors and the DEA

Fostering Talent: More than 4,000 associates participated
in AmerisourceBergen University Leadership Development online
courses this past year, and nearly 1,500 were trained in
leadership development in a classroom setting. To further enhance
talent development, tuition assistance was provided to those
eligible and nearly 800 associates benefited from this program -
Diversity & Inclusion: AmerisourceBergen reported 55
percent of associates are women and 30 percent of its Board of
Directors are women. The Human Rights Campaign Foundation awarded
AmerisourceBergen a perfect score of 100 percent on its Corporate
Equality Index and the company was listed as one of the Best
Places to Work for LGBT Equality. DiversityInc also named
AmerisourceBergen as a Noteworthy Company.

Healthy Communities:

Giving: AmerisourceBergen companies provided more than $4
million in over-the-counter product donations, nearly doubling the
prior year’s donation amount. Internally, approximately 2,000
associates supported nearly 60 of their peers through the
Associate Assistance Fund, a program funded by associates who opt
in and contribute between $1 to $10 per paycheck. $85,000 in total
funding was provided to associates by associates -
Volunteerism: Guided by site-based volunteer coordinators
and an annual paid Volunteer Time Off policy of up to eight hours
per year, more than 3,000 AmerisourceBergen associates in the U.S.
and Canada volunteered in their local communities -
Foundation: The AmerisourceBergen Foundation honed core
focus areas: opioid misuse, human health and animal health. Global
impact included 40+ organizations assisted worldwide and nearly
$5MM in donations in grants to support local communities

locations utilizing LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design) standards. Lash Group’s Kingsley Park I building in Fort

AmerisourceBergen continues to optimize packaging and ensure
resource minimization -
Renewable Energy: AmerisourceBergen opened its Phoenix
Distribution Center with on-site solar power that will generate
more than half the energy needs for the location and provide
significant cost savings -
Sustainable Food Production: MWI Animal Health’s products,
technologies and services help feed a growing, hungry world, and
the company is collaborating to help caretakers raise wholesome
food products
